How this comparison works
This tool runs the same item — price, buyer-paid shipping, your item cost, and your shipping cost — through each platform's standard fee formula at once, so you can see net profit side by side instead of checking four separate calculators.
Mercari charges a flat 10% on item price plus shipping. Poshmark charges a flat $2.95 under $15 or 20% at $15 and up. Depop charges roughly 3.3% plus $0.45 in payment processing with no separate selling fee in the US. Etsy layers a $0.20 listing fee, a 6.5% transaction fee, and a 3% payment processing fee plus $0.25. The platform with the highest net profit on paper is not automatically the best one to list on — factor in how fast each platform tends to sell your category of item, and the extra time cost of listing or cross-listing on more than one place.

Which platforms can I compare here?
This tool currently compares Mercari, Depop, Poshmark, and Etsy using each platform's standard default fee rates. eBay will be added once its dedicated calculator is live. Shopify and PayPal aren't included since they aren't per-item marketplace fees in the same way.
How accurate are the numbers shown here?
This uses each platform's standard default rates — the same defaults as each platform's dedicated calculator. It doesn't account for promotions, seller tiers, regional differences, or temporary fee changes. Open any platform's full calculator from the cards above for editable rates.
Does this include shipping costs?
Yes — both the shipping amount the buyer pays and your own out-of-pocket shipping cost are factored into each platform's net profit estimate, using that platform's specific treatment of shipping in its fee formula.
Why would the same item net different amounts on different platforms?
Each platform calculates fees differently — flat percentage, tiered flat-fee-then-percentage, or layered fee, payment, and listing charges. The differences can meaningfully change what the same item nets you depending on where you list it.
Should I cross-list the same item on multiple platforms?
Many sellers do, to reach more buyers, but it adds work keeping inventory synced. Cross-listing tools like Vendoo or List Perfectly handle that automatically. Use this comparison to see which platforms are worth your time before committing to cross-listing everywhere.
